?WATERLOO, Ont. (February 11, 2013) ? The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks hockey teams begin their quests for an OUA Championship this week with the opening round of playoffs for both the women?s and men?s teams.
The women, who have home ice advantage throughout the playoffs after clinching top spot in the conference, open against their cross-town rivals, the Waterloo Warriors. Game 1 of the best-of-three OUA Quarter-final series is at the Waterloo Recreation Complex on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Game 2 will go on Friday night at Columbia Ice Field at 7:30 p.m. and if necessary, Game 3 will be played Sunday night back at the Waterloo Recreation Complex at 7:30 p.m.

As for the men, they enter the postseason as they No. 5 seed in the OUA West division and they will face the No. 4 seed Guelph Gryphons in their first round, best-of-three series. Game 1 is schedule for Thursday night in Guelph at 7:30 p.m. with the two teams returning to Waterloo for Game 2 on Saturday night at 8 p.m. at the Waterloo Recreation Complex. Game 3, if necessary, will be back in Guelph on Sunday night at 7:30 p.m.
