Hillcroft Joe determined to seek revenge in Tote Gold Collar 550 - 2nd Rnd - Heat 1 at Harold?s Cross
Hillcroft Joe was unlucky to face an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Swift Marathon in the opening round of Tote Gold Collar 550 at Harold?s Cross. The black dog got bumped at the second bend and as a result, lost his pace significantly. Swift Marathon took the full advantage of the situation, and heaped plenty of misery on Hillcroft Joe - pushing him down to the third position.
The son of Top Honcho, out of Hillcroft Josie, is determined to pay back the debut with the same coin. The two hounds are locking horns in the Tote Gold Collar 550 - 2nd Rnd - Heat 1, to be held on Friday, December 7th.
Hillcroft Joe has the guts to get the better of Swift Marathon. His previous loss was just a matter of luck. If he had not suffered the mess early in the race, it could have been a great ride for the dashing hound.
Ahead of facing a disappointing loss here, the January-10 dog won a couple of races last month. On his last winning outing at Shelbourne Park, the maverick hound railed very nicely, and eventually sealed the victory by three lengths.
He is better drawn than Swift Marathon, and should dish out revenge. Swift Marathon is unlikely to be an easy nut to crack. Winning three of the previous four races shows how good momentum he is in. After taking a comfortable 2-length triumph in the first round, S. Graham?s charge is flying high, but surely needs to stay cautious of Hillcroft Joe.
There are four others contenders in the 550 yards contest. Their names are: Melodys Ace, Keelogs Diamond, Native Story, and Bartlemy Rocket. The ?100-for-winner clash is scheduled to start at 20:55 GMT.
Native Story is going through an unlucky spell, running well only in defeat. Keelogs Diamond was unimpressive on his previous trip, finishing third behind Ferdia Oscar. Bartlemy Rocket and Melodys Ace, both are struggling for form. So, it would not be a good move to expect anything special from them.
