400 High School Students to Compete in Business and Technology Events
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Jan. 5, 2012?? Davenport University is proud to host the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Regional Competition for West Michigan high school students on Friday, Jan. 6. Approximately 400 students representing 20 area schools will converge on Davenport?s W.A. Lettinga Campus to compete in more than 50 business and technology events.
?Business Professionals of America is a great opportunity for students preparing for careers in business management, information technology and other business-related fields,? said Deb Kiss, Advisor for Davenport?s BPA Chapter. ?We are thrilled to host this event and see the many young professionals preparing early for success in college and beyond.?
Events include individual and team competitions in Accounting, Business Skills, Technology, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills. Top qualifiers from this regional competition will advance to the BPA State Competition to be held in Grand Rapids in March.
